I have a brick wall around my fireplace & would like to remodel with a mantel. There are 4 heatalator vents(grates) are (2)above & (2)below on each side of the existing fireplace and are in the way if I want to put on a formal mantel. In what manner should I cover or remove them? Thanks for any reply!
