Hi everyone, my first post here and its a doozy.
We bought a newly remodeled home last December with nice Milgard Aluminum Windows and Screens. The screens were not attached at the time, but now we have decided to attach them to keep the bugs out during the warm weather. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc312/offlinepk/photo.jpg

Problem is I dont know how to attach them! Seems easy enough, but I cannot tell if they are missing hardware? I know the attach to the inside, and there are holes on the areas where the screen would go only, and I found 1 little black plastic button that fits in the hole, but thats the only one Ive found out of 8 window screens.

I dont know if that is part of the assembly, or a packaging piece to keep the hole clean during non-use or what. Its the weekend, and I will call Milgard this week, but any ideas.

I am in the middle of firefighter academy, so I dont know if I'll find time during the week to call them, but it seems odd that there isn't more on the web on how to put these on.

Thanks

Who knows where they are? Real Estate sales people tell home owners to remove the screens so the house looks bigger & brighter. If I ever buy a house, I'll make them install the screens before I go to contract. Look for a bag somewhere with the rest of them or take one to Home Cheapo.

This the type screen you will need: Extruded Aluminum Project-Out Window Screens (http://www.windowscreens.com/eapows.htm)

We're having a similar problem. Same window, but mine opens to the right, rather than up/down. I have the screens and the fastening hardware, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to attach them. The screen consists of a boxed frame and a smaller hinged screen. The screen frame is bigger than the glass and the interior-facing flange, and seems like the only way to install it would be to attach it from the outside by pushing it into the window frame. But, of course, the opening hardware is in the way. Is it supposed to be installed before the opening mechanism?

Sounds to me that you have the same situation as above except that you window is hinged on the side rather than the top. Is the screen frame about 1 1/4" deep or is it a flat screen? If your handle is in the way of your screen when the window is closed, you must leave the small hinged screen open when the window is closed. If you can post a picture of the window, screen and hardware it would help a great deal.
