My dog chewed off the top of this little tree last fall. It's getting new leaves. How should I trim it?

Hi Dawter,

I would suggest a clean cut on the top at an angle to just above a node. Here's how to establish a new leader. Scroll down here to Heading Cut on their page 5.

More info on how to restore a leader once your tree gets some age. They show an evergreen in the sketches, but the technique is the same.
