Hi. New here. My daughter's room is small and once on a tv show I saw a house where the living room had one shelf that ran all the way around the room , about 2 ft. below the ceiling. I was thinking of using metal so I could spray paint it yellow. Can anyone tell me where to start, what materials I need and where to get them? Thanks!

My first thought is that with that much shelving you're going to want to use hidden or floating shelf brackets. That many standard brackets would be very busy looking. I did something similar at my Mom's house (not as extensive) over some windows where she has a Beany Baby collection. I got the brackets I used from Lowe's.

Alot of it depends on how much weight you plan for the shelves to hold.

Personally, I'm not sure that metal would look good - are you talking about the standard metal wire shelves that you see at lowe's?

check this out, pretty high end but it will hold anything.

I would check out the Container Store-- they are a little pricey, but the systems are durable and easy to install. They have a big sale in Jan/Feb if you can wait that long!
