I remember seeing an ad on tv for a wallpaper that could be applied directly over wood paneling. It think it was called "Applique". Have you ever heard of it or a similar product? Where can I find it?

Hi
We just finished wallpapering over paneling, came out fine, we used a compound for filling in the bad cracks in the paneling, then just sized the walls, and we used the heavy paper, it came out good.
hope this helps

I have used wallpaper liner paper with good results. It is available in unpasted, which is cheaper, and pre-pasted. It is hung horizontally as opposed to the wallpaper which is hung vertically thereby eliminating the chance of having both seams on the same line. It is not nearly as messy as filling the grooves in the paneling.

I should have also said that before using the liner paper I used a product recommended to me by my dealer. It's called Bite Primer "an acrylic all-surface wallcovering primer" from Golden Harvest of Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
