I have a dining room table with several problems. One is that the finish has "cracked" or pulled up (see second photo below), leaving those areas rough. The other main problem is stains from wet items (I think) being put down on it (third photo).

It would seem to me that the top should be refinished to one degree or another... maybe just the sealing/finishing coat removed, or maybe more.

Does anyone have a suggestion as the best method to get this table back in shape? Thank you!
