I have a Kenmore gas dryer model #110.78202795, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is more than one way to vent the dryer. Currently it is vented out the back, but I would like to vent it out the side if possible. Also, I read that some Kenmore dryers can be vented from the base. We bought the dryer from a friend, so I don't have an owner's manual.

Thanks!

On some dryers it is possible. Look down at the bottom of the side of the unit. There should be a 4 1/2" circle that hasn't been fully punched out yet. If so, you can run the 4" vent line through that. You may have to do some adjusting on the outlet itself, like rotating it, not sure.

If knock is there dryer will have to be disassemble to reroute vent. Not hard to do, Will give directions if needed.

No knocking or anything, just a space/convenience issue. It is located in a small utility room, and we are trying to figure out if we can change its position so we can install a new door that swings in instead of out. Right now we have the washer and dryer on a platform because the vent to the outside is located along a wall where we can't put the dryer. So we have the dryer vented out the back and the hose running under the platform to the outside wall. Now I am just wondering if there is a spot to punch out on the dryer that would allow us to vent it from the side or bottom. Due to the space and platform issue, it is a real pain to pull it out to look & I don't have the owner's manual to check. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry missed a word should of said knock out. Here is a picture of your machine, I do not think your machine can be side vented as all the vent parts are in the back of machine.
