I am currently repairing a small section of wallpaper in a room which has scrim walls. I have replaced the scrim. Can I use ordinary wallpaper glue to stick the paper to the scrim or is there some sort of backing I should put on first?

Scrim is not a term I hear in my area.If you could explain what it is I would be happy to make a stab at your question.Forgive my ignorance......Mike

OK,In the deep south we call it muslin.Odd,but at any rate I am on the same page with you now.We use it in the old Civil War homes to line solid wood plank walls and then paper over it.Surprisingly you can hang directly on it much like a solid wall.If hanging pre-pasted paper and have any trouble use a pre-mixed clear glue to thicken the paste.Good Luck....Mike
