Hello All,
I have recently purchased a solid brick home built in 1950 in the Southerntier of New York. I have demolished all the exterior walls to find that the walls are only 2x2 studs with a foil insulation...not too efficient. My question is this, would it be wise to frame out the exterior walls to 2x4 and use regular fibergalsss insulation to get a much better R-value or use the studs that are currently there and use a foam insulation board? I am leaning towards 2x4 but then my windows and door will need to be trimmed out. Any suggestions? Thanks
