I have a large section of a wall where the previous home owners had ripped large sections of the wallpaper off. How do I prepare the wall for painting ?

If you havn't tried to strip the paper, give it a try.If it comes off wash the walls and use a good flat primer. If it will not come off let us know where you are.

If you have to paint paper, prime with an oil based primer, patch as needed, prime patched areas with primer and paint with topcoat of your choice.
