Preparing to put a new set of rings in my Honda mower. When I tore down the engine I removed the old rings (about a month ago). I bought a new set of rings today and now confused about the order. The oil wiper ring is clear - its the first but the compressions rings have me confused. One has a silver edge while the other has a black edge, otherwise they look identical. So, does the order matter, or am I making to much of the color difference?
Thanks in Advance.

The silver ring is the chrome ring, and is the last ring you put on. It will be nearest to the top of the piston.

I found the old rings that I had removed and can see that the compression rings from the old set are also two different colors. The edge of one is bright and shinny, the edge of the other is not. I had written it off to different wearing/burning of the old set at the time - but seems I was wrong. There's definitely a pattern here (or a weird coincidence), I just need to know what it is.

That was my guess, but it was just a guess. Appreciate it.
