Hello,
I know this may be fruitless but I thought I would try. Last week our Hot water went out and leaked badly. It did not submerge my carpet but it is underneath it. You can feel it when you press down with your fingers. Is there any tip to getting this up. I know I should rip up the carpeting but am hoping for an alternative. Thank you.

Just rent a carpet cleaner... you can actually clean the carpet while you have it but suck up as much as you can... and then your ok.. because all a carpet cleaner does is spray a soap and water solution into the carpet and suck it up so just do that... the underlay itself might be soaked but thats about it

You need to wet vac the water up! You will also need to run dehumidifiers and fans to get the rest of the water that the vac will not. Then you can have it steamed cleaned. You are all ready into this a week. Time to get the water up was last week you need to run to get it done.
