2003 KIA Sedona minivan stock car radio/cd player sometimes would provide a spotty sound and I figured out it wasn't a bad signal but rather the radio itself but nothing that a gentle hit didn't clear up
I had used this method with regular success for over a year and the other day the LED screen would just display "TEL" and wouldn't allow for any adjustments. No radio, no cd, no settings, no seek, no volume control, etc.
So I gave it another whack and now nothing. There is no LED display at all. The radio doesn't turn on at all
Did I just break it permanently? :o

It was already broke, you just knocked it out of it's misery. ;)
I would have it replaced. You can get a decent aftermarket stereo for under $150.

Y'all aint gonna believe this. I turned it on this morning just for yucks and it works as new. Everything's been reset so I reprogrammed my favorite stations.
It's almost as if it was disconnected from the power source and reconnected. Also (and it's raining today), none of the previous "service interruptions"
How bizarre it that? :)
