How do I get the mirror off the wall? There are no visable screws or "holder uppers" so it has to be glued. I want to take it down (it's the size of a piece of plywood!) and have it cut down. There has to be a way. Help! :

If adhesive or double sided tape was used you have a problem on your hands.Tape less so but will likely remove the top layers of sheetrock if you can get to it to get it loose.
If it's adhesive and that large I'd be really surprised to see you get it off in one peice.
You can't use solvents, that will still mess up the wall and the fumes will be very strong and maybe permanent in the wall.
I really don't know if there is a solution for you that will preserve the mirror and the wall surface.

And cutting it down if there is adhesive on the back might be a big issue as well. IIRC, mirrors have to be cut from the back to keep the silvering from peeling?
I doubt I'd even try removing a mirror that big.

I take some fishing line and use it as a saw to cut through the glue. Hold it like a jump rope and pull down.

I use a 30" car door slim jim. Be sure to tape the mirror, a lot, all over the front. If it does break, you won't get seriously hurt, I hope! Be safe, G

I'd be shocked if fishing line or a slim jim would cut through dried mirror adhesive.A slim jim also probably isn't long enough.
Wire like piano wire would be a better choice than fishing line.
That said without an edge that would grind through...and even then a tough job.
It's up to you to try it.

This might be best done by a professional. I just had mirrors taken down during renovation. The mirror guys came with suction cups for removal. The mirrors had been held by clips. THey told me the newest procedure is to glue the mirrors to the wall, and if they need to be taken down again, they can be pulled off with the suction cups easily.
