Ok basically I was given the wrong size for my rough at 62" I received my door today & it is 62"
I see a couple idea's like a belt sander on my 2 x 4 cripples or just taking one out and putting in a thinner ripped piece. Any sugesstions? I searched rough opening and looked through 200 threads before I asked. thanks John

As long as it's not load bearing. Can you easily replace one side's stud and trimmer with a 4x4? Then use a hanger:
HUCQ Heavy Duty Joist Hangers (http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/HUCQ.asp)
Depends on the load for exchanging with a 1x4. Picture would be nice. Be safe, G

Header is (2) 2 x 6 with 1/2 plywood as a spacer in the center. Then I have the cripple 2 x 4 and the full height 2 x 4. Sorry if I am not using correct terminology. The upper floor is on 2 x 8 with the outside walls being the load bearing walls. Is that correct? Hope the pictures work I linked them from facebook but I can't see them.. John

No pics yet! Are the joists bearing on the said header? Or does the header run with it? Is this a sliding patio exterior door? Be safe, G

John, copy/paste the HTML code to your post. I think that will work.

Take out the trimmer/jack stud (what you called a cripple)..use one of these on each side..HH Header Hangers (http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/hh.asp) , then put a 1x4 up against the king stud. That will give you 3/4" addl room on each side. Just about perfect spacing, well, a little more than normal..but easy to shim and trim.

I did a test fit. Here is what it looks like. I had a little over hang of my OSB on the right side but after I trimmed down it fits. I have no room for movement at all. So if Its square and plumb (my trimmers are) Should I just set it and call it a day?
One question I have. I ordered this with the brick mold attached. But they put the threshold to the front of the brick mold instead of to the frame. Now my threshold is out 1 inch over my slab. Is this normal? Meaning if you order it with brick mold do they automatically put the threshold to the edge of it? I am planning to pour a small slab in front anyhow so That should fix it.

Just my opinion....if it really is tight..you will prob wind up with issues later as the structure settles, you add weight from shingles (hmmm, are they already on?), and with seasonal changes. I'd do something for a little room.
That said..it IS a shed....make yer choices, take yer chances.
BTW..where'd you get the door? Surprised they didn't advise an outswing, so it wouldn't take up storage/work room inside.

Shingles are on. I am going to stucco it to match the house. I am in Phoenix, AZ so not much for seasonal change. It's either Hell or swell. I got the door at Lowe's and I asked for the door that way. Mostly the bottom is going to be a small 10 x 12 workshop. Everything above is really the shed/storage space.

Oh yeah john..I know..I'm in Kingman..we prob get a little more rain/colder weather than you. I'd still try to leave a little room for adjustment. If you use deck screws in the jamb, instead of nails..you will be able to make changes later on.

And, John, as far as the threshold goes, it is supposed to stick out there for drainage away from the building. You will need to attach probably a 5/4 x 6 under it, tight up to the metal. That way whatever puts weight out there won't bend the metal. Just run it in using tapcons.

Thanks everyone for the help so far. Tomorrow we are going to wrap it in 15 lb felt and then put the doors up with the deck screws. I have a nice countersink drill bit just for that.
