Hi Everyone,
I have a very cool landline telephone from the UK that i would love to connect in Canada.
Has anyone done this before? I know the pin-outs and connectors are different and I can handle that, but are the voltages compatible?
Obviously i would need to adapt 220V to 110 V line, but what about the actual phone line voltage and ring voltage.
Any suggestions? Help!!

The telephone shold be OK, the main difference is the way the ringer is connected.
A UK master socket have a capacitor, and splits the ringer circuit from the speach circuit.
This cap. is usually insidde the telephone in moast other countries. You need a mastersocket, or to put in a cap in you old phone.
The capacitor should be non polarized, rated for at least 200V and have a value of 1 about 1 mikroFarad.
