I have a large double-hung window that is 45 inches wide. My AC unit, Maytag M6Q10F2A, is 20 inches wide and the accordion panels will only stretch to fit a window that is 41.5.
My wife is very much against using plywood, and didn't appear too receptive to plexy-glass.
Is it possible to order larger accordion panels to fit most units? I searched for it, but couldn't find anything.
If not, does anybody have any suggestions that look professional, or at least don't look sloppy? Unfortunately, this AC unit will be in a window in the front of my home. This is just for one summer while I save up for a ductless unit.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

easiest is to buy a window unit that will fit or use another window and use fans to blow the cold air around.
