I have installed an acryllic shower pan; shower surround is down to studs. I am planning on using cement board for the shower walls. I understand that I need a vapor barrier behind the cement board. I am thinking about using 6 mil poly. Do I run the sheets vertically or horizontally? I have heard/read that the sheets must be sealed - how is this done? Also, I have heard/read that the poly should go over the top of the shower pan flange by a 1/2 inch or so. Have also heard that where the cement board meets the top of the flange, it should be caulked. If poly is to go 1/2" or so down over the top of the flange, obviously cannot caulk. What is the proper way to do this? Thanks
