Vista 15p - 6160rf & 6160V keypad wireless transmitters - I can not get the chime to work when opening entry doors. Does this feature only work with wired sensors? Or do I need to program the wireless transmitter some how?

I entered the master code + 9 ####9. When entering the master and 9 I hear a chime from the keypad for acceptance turning on or off the chime and the ###9 following has no effect.

What zone type did you program the transmitters as?

I programmed them Type 01

If "chime" is displayed on the keypad (I think #### 9 was supposed to be the example of entering [code] + 9), and your keypads chime for other openings, then it should chime for these.

The system doesn't differentiate between wired and wireless for a given zone type.

When you open the door, does the system show it as an open zone?

None of the zones chime. But the keypad says chime is on or chime off which I have turned on and off many times without success. The 6160V keypad reports which fault is present in alpha format and not with a chime or annunciation. I can enter #,0,*,* and get a one time voice report of any triggered faults.

Windows have been programmed perimeter and they also show faulted when open but do not chime at the key pad.

I'm thinking that your non-V keypad has a bad piezo sounder.

Another possibility is that if it is the second keypad (address 17) it was set in programming as a silent keypad.

I powered down the system, reset the 6160V. Read more in programming manual - powered down again, entered program mode *26 + 0. Exited program mode and all is well chiming and annunciating all zones.
Thanks!

Ah, someone tried to use "chime by zone"; which is only useful for when you are trying to exclude specific zones from chime behavior. They really should have named it "chime by zone _list_".

I've caught "pros" getting zinged by that one.
