Telephone jack is five feet up from the floor in the kitchen. It is in the way of installing an under-the -cabinet microwave. How can I move it down,out of the way?

Question is, where would you like it? You can run new wires and install a jack or, if you have other jacks in the house, you could use a cordless remote in the kitchen with the base somewhere else in the house.
