I have a two story house with two units. the upstairs works my bonus room also which is seperated by a wall over the garage from the other part of the upstairs. the air flow in the living quarters upstairs is fine, but in the bonus it is weak. the return doesn't seem to be pulling much air like the return in the other side. how should I check this.

This 'bonus' room is an add-on? Does it have a return?
Does airflow improve with the door open?
If it has a return, check for clogged filter, damper closed, fallen interior duct insulation,
anything that would block airflow.:wall:

it was built over the garage with the original house was built. the stairs are next to the gargage inside the house that lead to it. It does have a return, filter is clean have looked at duct work it doesn't appear to be collapsed.

Sounds like a bad duct design.

it may be a bad duct design. it comes off the air handler with its own trunk runs through a wall to the small sapce above the bonus room then 4 runs split off this trunk to vents in the bonus. the air handler only has 7to 8 other runs coming off of it to vents.
