I recently closed on a house that already had an ADT system installed. It has a safewatch pro 2000 keypad. I know the password and am able to turn the chime on and off, but for some reason there is no beeping at the keypad and when I open the door with the chime on, it doesn't make any noise at all. I have replaced the main battery, and have tested the main alarm by setting it off (which works and is very loud)
Any help would be awesome. Trying to be able to hear the doors open so my babies don't run out into the pool unsupervised.

My first question would be, "Does the READY light shut off when you open the door"? If not, either the zone is not programmed or the contact is stuck or frozen. If it does, you need to check a couple of programming locations pertaining to zone list and chime options.

Thank you for replying so quickly, The ready light is off until i bypass 2 different zones. After the readylight is on, I open the front door and the light goes off, also the back doors (the ones leading to the pool) contacts work to because i have don the same with it. I have also tested the alarm by arming it and opening up the back doors. It does not change anythign with the chime :( the keypad does not even beep when I push any buttons.

Either the keypad has a failed piezo sounder or speaker, or someone has cut the wires to the sounder (some people do that because they don't like the sound of the exit countdown).
If you are _lucky_ it can be reconnected. If not, replace the keypad (there are several variants on these keypads, and some can be field repaired, and some cannot; at least with typical PC board soldering skills).

Can I buy any new keypad or does it have to be the same type? I would prefer to get one that shows more details on what doors are open. Possibly one on Ebay because it would be cheaper. Would I have to reprogram all the stuff again or is it saved on the main motherboard? Can I pernamently bypass zones that are showing for me to check them or do I have to figure out what zones they are and fix them? Is it possible to get a pool alarm put into this system also?
Thanks,
Ben

Yes, the keypads are replaceable. You probably have a 6128 model keypad. The current model upgrade (to full alpha) is 6160.
If your system is a Safewatch 2000, it's a slightly modified version of the Vista 20se (which is what you need to websearch to get the installer manual for).
If you upgrade, it will work just fine, out of the box, but you would have to program the zone descriptors you want.
The system information is stored in the system motherboard (which will not lose any info if powered down). The keypads are just an interface.
Your open zones are most likely either missing magnets or bad contacts; an easy fix. You just have to find them.
There are pool alarms that have axillary relay contacts that you can tie into an security alarm system. I will state that pool alarms and security systems tend to be a touchy mix. Picking the right zone type, especially with an older alarm, like this one, can be a bit of an art.
