I'm looking for a good brand to kill of insects around my house. I have sprayer and I need a good product to kill off the ants, spiders, roaches, flying insects and what ever else to keep those bugs away from my house. Instead of paying pest control a butt loads of money is there any good products out there that I can use to do the job my self. I've used various products, but they dont seem to do the job, or maybe i'm just not mixing it right. Any ideas would be great.

Hi Ck,
Trying to kill all the bugs that you see is not the answer. If you keep spraying, especially the synthetic pesticides, you will kill the good bugs that are predators of the bad bugs. If the ants aren't coming in your house or they aren't fire ants, they are usually best left alone. Spiders are considered good predators in the garden.
It's really important to your health and the environment that you only take action when there is a problem. I found that doing nothing the first couple of years I moved into my house helped to establish a balance between the good and bad bugs. Now 20 years later I never have to spray for any. There are no pesticides to kill the good bugs and they eat the bad ones. The birds feed insects to their babies and the birds aren't poisoned either. Here's a site where you can make organic sprays for your garden pests. The second one is a chart for what works for what.

I hear what you are saying, but the thing is they come into my house. I hate it when I come home from work and walk into my kitchen or the bedroom I end up getting a face full of spider webs. Sometimes I will see them crawling on me. The worst ones are the small baby or tiny looking spiders. It's not a big deal if they are outside but when they start coming in, then that's a problem. I tried buying the some green type spray for inside the house but I don't think they are very effective, especially for the spiders.

I understand what you are saying. It sounds like you will need to be diligent and spray around all windows, doors and any other points of entry such as where pipes/wires enter your house, including from a crawl space or basement. You might want to use one of the expanding foam insulation products you can get in a spray can to seal the areas where there is pipe or wire penetration. Vaccuum the entire house very thoroughly including any corners and inside closets and cabinets where spiders might want to hide.
