I live in Florida and am having trouble navigating the FL bldg codes on the internet. Can anyone out there tell me what is the requirements for for a room addition to a manufactured home that is 18" off the ground and totals 224 sqft, with one window, one outside door, and 5 new electrical outlets, no plumbing.
Thanks!

Well, since I have no idea as to what Florida codes are, we are starting off at the same point:). First stop would be to a big box store to get a material list. They will ask what size and such and being in Florida will have a reasonable idea as to the codes. Probably even draw it up for you. Then a stop at your local code office to check on what permits will be needed and they will go over what the big box drew up and add details if required. With a design, changes to meet your local code department, and permit in hand, you are ready to begin construction.

If you have done some construction before, this can be a DIY project. If you are totally new, you will need someone knowledgeable to help or hire someone to lead.

Good Luck
