hello
i move in a new house with this alarm in
Digital Security Controls. PC2550 v1.3
I get the documentation BUT
the control panel cannot be reseted from the master code
even when i do a hardware Reset Eprom memory to factory defaults using a short jumper to "EEPROM RESET"
(may be because of the installer's lockout enable [90] ? don't know how to use it)
my BIG problem is that i check the wiring of any infra red sensor:OK
The control dispay show me a red light when i go in any rooms where is located each infra read unit
but when i am testing the alarm only 3 are working.
can someone help me for this? :coffee:
have a good day

If you successfully defaulted the panel, the master code would be 1234, and the installer code would be 2500 or 2550.
When you power up the system, do you hear about 10 clicks from the motherboard? If so, the installer lockout was set, and short of a lucky guess at the installer code, it's junk and you need a new control and keypad(s).

what Ron is talking about is a telephone line seizure relay chattering- this noise will come from inside the metal box the main panel is located in. NOT the keypads themself.
it may click 1 or 2 times, that means the panel does NOT have the installers lockout turned on.
if it chatters many times- (10) then it is locked out- and you will need to try all 10,000 codes to get the right one. or install a new panel & new keyspads- the old ones wont work on the newer panels

Just to verify, are you following the procedure from the installer manual?
"Hardware Reset of EEPROM Memory to Factory
Defaults
If the Installer’s Code is lost through inadvertent
programming, the only means of reprogramming the
system is via a hardware reset. If the Installer’s Lockout is
enabled, there is no way to reprogram the system without
entering the correct Installer’s Code.
Follow the sequence outlined below to reset the panel to
factory default conditions.
1.Power unit down by removing both AC and battery
power.
2.Using a short jumper, short pins marked “EEPROM
RESET” together.
3.Power PC2550 up.
4.Wait for 10 seconds then remove shorting jumper.
5.The system will have reloaded the EEPROM with the
factory default codes."

Your best bet is to shop French/European dealers, that way, any hardware you buy will be correct for your electrical and telecom system.

quite difficult to find a french seller or even european one...
i will check anyway
do you think will be a problem if the Power Supply get a 220 VAC from my house and can produce the right dc for the control panel?
and another question i see on their link to buy this kit:

Product Description
Note: An Programming Keypad is not included in this kit. We strongly recommend an PK5500 for programming and setup.
did i really need to add in my cart this keyboard?

That's a kit intended for North American 120v 60hz power systems.
The basic hardware will remain the same; the system actually runs off of 16VAC from the transformer. Your system needs to be one that comes with the correct 220v to 16v ac transformer for your electrical system. Overseas versions also have slightly different programming defaults.
They are being a little misleading with that line about the keypad. _Any_ compatible keypad will program one of these systems; the alpha keypad is just _easier_ because you don't have to refer to the binary number translation chart in the instructions to view your programming data.
DSC is quite international. Try searching using the phrase "DSC Power series + French". You really do need to get the right hardware for your location, or you will get unpredictable results.
