Hi Everyone, I am in the UK and I had an old British Gas DSC alarm, and am in the process of replacing it with another alarm from a differant manurfacturer as I have been unable to source a DSC alarm for public purchase in the UK. And was wondering if any one knew how the bell box was wired up, which wires did what etc. As I have 4 wires left, and they all look like they go to the bellbox. The reason i'm asking is I don't have a ladder to get up there and look.

Two wires will be the actual sounder (I'd bet on red and black). The other two _might_ be for a tamper switch for the bell/siren housing.
The tamper is kinda optional, unless you live in a place were someone might actually try to tamper with the siren. From the sounds of it, the box isn't particularly accessable.
If it had a tamper switch, the extra pair will likely read as a closed circuit. If not, it's just a spare pair and will read open.
