We have a sliding glass door that directly faces the rising sun. This heats up the living room in the morning and adds to cooling costs. Does anyone have a suggestion for some sort of sun reflector that would help here? I would want to use it for only a few hours per day and then put it away.

A roll-up tinted indoor shade. Be safe, G

Hi and welcome to the forum! A solar shade would work but it would have to be mounted permanently, it can't be put away. It would also have to be custom or semi-custom made because of the width needed.
A couple other alternatives would be mounting a rod and hanging some blackout lined draperies from rings. You can open and stackback when you want and close them when needed. Draperies are a great way to warm up a room.
Another option would be to have the glass tinted, but I would have it done professionally.
