I keep leaving my gas stove burner on all day or overnite because the flame is so small I can barely see it. This is costing me a lot of wasted gas. Is there a device to indicate the burner is on, or a timer to shut it off?

Hello superstar54 and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and to the Gas Appliances topic.

To the best of my knowledge there is no such device to indicate whether a burner is on or off nor one to turn a burner off, if it is left on. This is something you will have to check each and every time you use a top burner on the appliance.

Suggestion:
To help denote (mark or indicate) the position of the knob(s), you can mark the "OFF" position using RED nail polish or paint.

Purpose:
In this manner, the RED mark or vertical line you mark on the knob can be plainly seen from a distance. A more positive indication the knob is in the "OFF" position, if visibility is an issue or concern.
