I have had a Heat & Glo model 6000DVT gas fireplace for about 10 years that recently has had the problem of the flame burning blue, getting fainter and fainter until it goes out and the pilot light then has to be re-lit, etc.
I have by-passed the hi-temp switch and then the door micro-switch as instructed by the manual to test each, and each seemed to solve the problem, but then it began to recur. Now, with both switches by-passed, the flame will seem to be ok and then "click" off and the pilot light goes out as well, and sometimes the fireplace will not flame up when the switch is flipped on even though the pilot light is on.
Suggestions of the problem and ways to fix it?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums! Sorry for the delay in answering. One thing is the burner bar and pilot area need to be gently vacuumed regularly. It doesn't take much to cause the safety devices to do their job, even though you don't think it is happening.
