Existing V15P system when I bought home. Downloaded manuals. Had 6150RF. Added 6160. Got the system working and started expansion. Added 4229. Recently added 2 5804BD keys. When I was testing the 5804BD's I noticed that when I arm Away the 6160 indicates Armed Away and the exit delay timer starts to count down. When the timer gets to zero, the 6160 display changes to Armed Stay (not Away). I have verified that the interior follow zone does not trigger the alarm.
This happens with the 5804BD's and the 6150RF keypad and the 6160 keypad. I havn't used the system in awhile, so I do not know if the problem started with the addition of the 5804BD's or was already there.
I'm hoping someone has experienced this before and can help before I have to strip the system back to the minimum hardware and defaults.
I did search the FAQ's.
Thanks in advance!!!!!
PS I don't know what Tags or Trackback means yet so I didn't put anything there.

Auto Stay Arming should be off
*84 should be 0
*84 should be 0

Your panel was waiting for you to exit. If you don't open then close an entry door, the panel automatically goes into STAY.

WOW! Thank you both very much.
My *84 was set to 1. Opening and closing a door worked fine for the 6150RF and the 6160. However, the 2 5804BD's still reverted to Stay unless I opened and closed a door. The installation and setup guide K5305-1V4 5/04 Rev. A, Page 4-5 indicates any RF device overrides this feature and the system remains armed Away.
My RF devices are registered as local to the 6150RF and do not use a control panel zone.
Could this possibly be the difference?
I have set *84 to 0. I am happy and if need be it will stay at 0.
Thanks again,
Ernie

What's the point of having Bi-directional Keyfobs if they won't arm in away mode from outside the house.
I would delete them from the keypad program and then reprogram them again.
Maybe, and I'm guessing here, since they were programmed before you changed location 84......they're still working in the other mode?

OK!
When *84 is set to 0:
The system remains in the Armed AWAY mode after the exit timer counts down when any of the 3 (6160,6150RF,5804BD) devices are used to arm the system even if an entrance/exit door has not been opened and closed during the exit timer count down.
When *84 is set to 1 or 3 (I only tried 1&3):
The system remains in the Armed AWAY mode after the exit timer counts down when any of the 3 (6160,6150RF,5804BD) devices are used to arm the system only if an entrance/exit door has been opened and closed during the exit timer count down. Otherwise, it reverts to Armed STAY. If I read the book right, when armed via an RF device (5804BD) this should be overriden and remain in the Armed AWAY mode even if an entrance/exit door has not been opened and closed.
I did delete and reprogram 1 of the 5804BD's a couple of different times and nothing changed.
My RF devices are registered as local to the 6150RF and do not use a control panel zone.
Could this possibly be the difference?
Currently I have *84 set to 0 so the system will always remain in the Armed AWAY mode no matter what.
Thanks for your help,
Ernie
