My wife and I are building a log house and intend to generate some of our electricity using photovoltaic laminate on the roof. Our utility has net metering so this will reduce our bill. We don't intend to store any.
Whether we go big or small or do it at all pretty much comes down to price. We can install the metal roof ourselves but the laminate is only sold to certified installers.
