In the U.S. there are quite a few mopeds, Usually the early teens ride them. The smaller scooters are ridden by all ages. Here there is a cultural niche for just about everything.

The resistance (probably cultural) is to follow fad buying initially, but to look for something different as the new wears off. Consequently, you wouldn't see the same of anything for a long period of time.

I have seen more Mopeds around and adults are buying more and more over time as the non-moped-looking bikes come out.. I would rather have a Honda Rebel 250cc.. same power but more of a Harley look.. but they are small and I'm 6-4" so my legs hide the tank.. (had one last year).. I'm now building a Chopper from a junk Bike with the same Engine as the Rebel.. a 91' Honda Nighthawk.. and the best part is the thing was FREE..

So were out there..
