I own a mobile home that has the divider strips every 4'. I want to remove the strips and taped the joints. My concern is 1) will the tape joints crack with the movement of the trailer and 2) the walls have a slight texture, will I have to float the whole wall to make the walls look uniform?

How old is your MH?
Generally it's better to leave the strips and paint them along with the wall if you want to change the color. Do you have the 1/4" drywall with a vinyl print face? If so, you should coat them first with a solvent based primer. That will help the latex paint to adhere better.
and the answer to questions 1&2 is yes:(
