I have a Panasonic PT-52LCX65 tv that I need to replace the fresnel lens and the lenticular screen.

Will any fresnel lens and screen work or are there specifics with these?

The reason I ask is, Panasonic has replacement parts for these for about $700 for both but I've seen some online for a lot less and you can cut them to fit.

Thanks for any help.

In order for the picture to look as good as it was , yes you would need to order the exact replacement.However...You can replace it with another matched set and the picture will be good as long as your viewing angle is almost straight on.If you need clarifcation just post back.

Thanks for you reply! I appreciate it.

The tv's location in the room makes for a pretty much straight viewing angle from the sofas.

I want the same quality picture however, $700 seems a little steep and I was hoping for some aftermarket companies/websites that I could get a like kind quality from.
Didn't know if they were rated in, let's say dots per inch, or what.

I've tried mighty shield but their online ordering system has been down for a week+. Is this something repair shops have on hand and I may be better off having them look at it? I was afraid to even look into that if they had to get from panasonic, add markup and labor.

For $700, I could almost get a new tv.

Shops don't normally keep new ones in stock. Some may do like I do though and save the screen assyblies from junk sets.So might be worth the time to call around.

We have the exact same tv. replaced the screen with RCA models the lenticular screen works fine but fresnel screen has rigids so you see them in the pic. Best to go with panasonic.
