Hello all! I have a ademco vista 40 panel, that I was in the process of installing a 4285 voice module. I used *99 to exit the programming mode, and afterwards received a message of something like vista 40 all reset. After that all keypads went blank. When I try to get back into programming mode (removing power and pressing # and * at the same time) I still get blank screens on key pads. Quite simply I cant use the alarm system. BTW I have a 2 line 6139 alpha console.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!:wall:

That's the right way to exit programming as long as you exited the menu area first, and you should be able to get back in the way you described. Sometimes people forget to exit the *56 or *93 menus first before pressing *99. I guess I would check the Aux Power terminals to make sure I have 12 volts and check the wiring on the data devices for shorts.

:wall:Sorry, I should have mentioned that all 3 consoles have 12 volts . The alpha console had lit keys , but nothing on the lcd screen. After quite a few tries of powering down the board, I finally got the lcd screen to respond. It says VISTA 40 SYSTEM RESET. I looked in all manuals and could not find any information on this. I tried my user code, and made the lcd go blank again. I'm guessing I need Installer code.

The voice module on the Vista 40 must be addressed 04. Device type 5. So you can't have a keypad addressed as 04. Get the system working with 1 keypad. Check the addresses on all your keypads and make sure there aren't any devices with the same address. Double check the Device Programming section. This will cause conflicts.

AllTrack you were absolutly correct. I had a keypad conflict. Once I set all the correct addresses for keypads and modules the system went back to normal. I like the features of the vista 40 and dreaded buying a new board. I can't thank you enough!
