Hey guys,
Im currently fixing up my uncle's yamaha ty 175 2 stroke. I have got the bike running perfetly as it wouldnt start at all when i received it. Anyway apart from that the bike has all its lights; blinkers, headlight and brake light. The problem is that once i put a new headlight bulb and start the bike, the headlight gets significantly brighter when the bike is reved. My uncle came to pick the bike up the other night, drove down the street and the headlight blew. I then automatically though it was the rectifier/regulator located under the petrol tank. So i did the right thing and replaced it with a new one. I also put in a new headlight bulb. With that said i tried it again and the same thing happened - as i rev the bike the headlight gets brighter and eventually blows. I now think the problem lies within the magneto/flywheel but am very unsure. Do you guys think it may be that? and is it worth fixing eg. price and replacement? as he may be only riding the bike during the day anyway and i want the thing out of my garage
Thanks in advance,
Dom
