Hello,
I have a DSC LCD5501Z with error light on. Did the *2 and error code 8 is deplayed. Would you know what this means ?

Also, could not find instruction manual (found the user manual, where is says, please refer to instruction manuel for more information on error codes).

That's because LCD5501z is the _keypad_ model, and it works on about 10 or so DSC alarm system models. You have to look at the diagram inside the battery compartment door to find the actual system model so that you can get the right manual.

That said: On all DSC power series panels, trouble 8 is loss of system time.

You need to set the system clock (also in the user manual).
