I have a covered porch and the ceiling is MDF. Can I attach a siding procuct to this ceiling, ie can I attach siding to MDF?

Welcome to the forums! You will notice moisture deterioration in short order on the MDF, since it is exposed to the elements. I would opt to remove the MDF and install another product more suitable for exterior applications.

MDF is an INTERIOR product. Even putting it in an enclosed exterior location, like a patio or sunroom, where moisture is present and the humidity varies will destroy it in short order.

Remove the MDF. Install 1x4 strips 16 in oc to the ceiling joists. Attach the vinyl soffit material to the 1x4 strips.
