are there any decent plate jointers for 150 or less new? The PC 557
is too much. Dont want junk but dont need a 7 amp motor either.

It's probably low end but I'm not a carpenter and don't use it regularly but when I built my kitchen cabinets I bought a harbor freight biscuit jointer for $50 - maybe 5 yrs ago? While I used it a lot building the cabinets, I only use it occasionally now but have been well satisfied with it.

I've been using a PC 556 for several years and it's giving me good service. I'm sure I didn't pay over $150 for it.

I don't think my Dewalt was over $150, but prices are blurred when you are shopping for tools. Your brain automatically senses it.

True. The chance of the actual price registering in your brain is inversely proportional to how badly you want the new tool.

I got the PC 557. whats another 50. a bad lunch for 4 costs more
and its gone in the sewer in a few hours and made you sick to boot.

TG, I like this guy, already!! Theory won't hold water, but you go with it anyway, and stick to it.
