We ran 5 loads of wash last night. This morning water in the upstairs bathroom was very salty and foamy. We're on well water that's pretty hard. I noticed that there was a lot of brine - seemed like more than usual - in the salt container last time I filled it up. I believe we have a Fleck unit - don't remember the model number that's probably 5-8 yrs. old. It's worked perfectly until now. Will the saltyness "work itself out" or is there another problem? I assume the later. Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

When yo have too much water in the brine tank, the unit will draw all the water out during a regen. It does not have enough time to rinse the resin completely and you get salty water. Just run a cold water tap for about 5 min and it will clear. Disconnect the brine line from the unit. If you have a drip from the brine line, that's whats filling up the brine tank. The brine valve is not sealing completely.

Thanks for the reply. I have an Econominder 5600. The user manual sezs "clean flow control" to solve exessive water in brine tank, but doesn't say if that's just the line or something inside the unit or the in the tank. Any help is appreciated.

The flow controller is located in the brass connector that the brine line hooks to on the right side of the valve.
