Hi. I want to remove the auger assembly from the blower housing. Once I can remove the two belt wheels and the
collar holding the auger/impeller shaft from the rear of the
blower housing it appears I should be able to disassemble the
assembly from the housing and pull it straight out so i can
easily sand and repaint the inside of the blower housing. However the auger belt wheel has two square head bolts which of course are intentionally sized so that a socket wrench
sae or metric wont fit the bolt but only enough room between
the back of the blower housing and wheel for a socket wrench.
I am getting a universal socket that claims to work on broken head or square head bolts. My question is can i remove the
auger wheel after i loosen these two bolts or do i still need a
wheel puller before it will come out? The complete parts manual lists individual parts available for order on the blower
housing and auger/assembly unit. However they intentionally
left out both belt wheels! No part numbers or photos of either
wheel or any photo of the rear of the blower housing! If either
wheel becomes warped or worn according to them you must
purchase the entire blower housing assembly which includes these parts for about $700.00!! Thanks in advance for your
help.
