Rugs, Carpets and Carpeting - How to transition over 1" from berber carpet down to painted concrete

Hi gang, newbie here. I'm finishing my basement and I have a doorway threshold to deal with. At this threshold, I need to go down from a newly carpeted hallway down into my office which has a painted concrete floor. Using DRIcore subfloor under the carpet. That is 15/16" and I'm having berber installed over it next Thurs. Trying to figure out the best/cleanest/most professional-looking way to handle the transition. My carpet installers sound a little nervous on the phone and they're talking about maybe using a Johnsonite reducer, but they're not sure they can get one that tall. For what it's worth, I'm installing a hanging door on the hallway side of the threshold, so the door will hide more of the jamb area than is visible on a typical door. Suggestions?

You may have to have a wooden reducer milled. It will look much better than a vinyl reducer

Yeah, I agree, the vinyl will look like....well vinyl, and only if you can find it that thick. I mill my own if it gets "out of the ordinary". I find the manufacturers of laminates make really ugly transition pieces. Find a local carpenter with a shop. It isn't rocket science and shouldn't be that expensive.

If it were my home, I'd treat it like a mini stair riser. If it gets wore out along the edge, then I would fab a threshold.
