Hello. I've been trying to get my mother-in-laws gas stove to work. First off it would not light. I replaced the spiral glow coil. It lit and then it would not shut off. I replaced the regulator/switched gas valve. It had the exact same part number as the old. I switched the fitting around because the gas source is LP. Not natural gas. Got it working fine to find out the flame is burning way to big. The cover that you adjust is set all the way open making the flame the smallest it can be. I did turn the cover all the way closed but the flame was just huge. Could I have a defective brand new valve? As far as I know there are no other adjustments. HELP!:wall:

Hello 2curious4u and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and to the Gas Appliances topic.
Excessively large flames? After converting from propane to natural gas, or the other way around, you also have to adjust the orifices or remove the propane orifices replace them with natural gas orifices.
