My daughter(1 year old) pulled down the center anchor of our family room curtains. The curtain rod was secured in the center by a typical plastic anchor, there is no stud in this location. There are studs w/anchors on both ends and they are still fine.

The plastic anchor pulled out of the wall leaving a 1/4-1/3" diameter hole. The problem is this hole is bigger than most of the other anchors I would typically use. I could patch the drywall but generally avoid anchoring into a patch.

Any other ideas? The only other solution I see is moving the anchor location but I'd like to keep it in the center.

Anyway.. thanks for the assistance..

Use a 3/16 diameter toggle bolt.
