I had to patch an area in a kitchen ceiling. The area is about 3 ft by 1 ft. I have patched the drywall and it is smooth and looks good, but the rest of the ceiling has a popcorn texture to it. What would be the best way to match this on the area that I've patched? Any tips will be appreciated greatly?

Welcome to the forums!
Unless you want to scrape off the rest of the popcorn and either change textures or leave it slick, you will have to popcorn the repair. You can buy spray cans of popcorn texture at most paint stores and elsewhere - maybe big box? You need to texture the slick area and feather it out a little over the existing popcorn. Spraying texture is very messy so be sure to cover everything up well. The ceiling might need to be painted to make the repair blend.
