My door is 2 years old and due to weather, sun and so on it got ugly at some spots (especially at the bottom). I need some suggestions regarding the paint, preapration...it's the brown color wood-like finish which I would like to leave, eventually deepen the color a litlte, put some gloss finish or something to preserve them... Please give me some ideas, this is going to be a first time for this door so I want to do that correctly. Thanks for help

I've only messed with vinyl/plastic wood grain doors a couple times years ago and they are a pain.
Try cleaning it with a soft bristle brush and TSP. Then find a good vinyl stain(ask Sherwin Williams) and just brush it on like you don't care(one side at a time). By the time you get to the bottom the top will be drying. Lightly wipe it down and let it set for couple hours or longer.
I had to spray the clear on because brushing moved the stain around.
Paint has reformulated a lot since then so check with a rep.
Good luck

What type of finish is currently on the door?

Epoxies are generally recommended for painting over fiberglass, and they are more expensive. Awlgrip and Imron are the most well known products. Petit has a product called Unepoxy which will work and can be purchased in quart cans for a bit less, in most marine stores.
