I have an oler Tappen gas range that needs a new oven safety valve. Have searched the net but unable to find a listing for a valve for a Tappen model 36-2335? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello jtalk. Welcome to Gas Appliances topic and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
There are many types of oven safety valves. Depending upon the age of that appliance, the specific one needed may or may not be available on line.....
Suggestion: Stop looking on line. Go to the local appliance parts store in your area. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.
You did not mention any problem(s) with the oven. How has it been determined the gas control valve or oven safety is defective???? Kindly advise. May or may not be either valve at fault....???? May not even need any parts....
Cautionary Reminder Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.

Thanks: I had a repairman look at the stove and he said that the safety valve was the problem. I have been to all the local appliance repair shops and it looks like all they can order parts for are current models. There has to be a way to cross reference and find a replacemaent valve. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. The stove is a Tappen model 36-2335
Thanks
