I recently bought a TrueSteam HM509VPIAQ humidifier to install on our Bryant 395cav. I've been reading about these installs quite a bit on this forum, and it seems some people are having difficulties with it. I am wondering if I can cut that off at the pass and ask someone if I should be OK following the instructions included with the humidifier, or if some can provide me with some shortcuts/corrections/suggestions. I don't want to end up screwing something up and being without heat...I'd never hear the end of it from my wife! I am pretty handy, but this will be my first time working with HVAC wiring(aside from simply putting on a new thermostat). Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreaciated!
Thanks,
Dan

Not to discourage you, and you probably already know this from reading through the forums, but honeywell says they will not honor the 5 year warranty of the TrueSteam if it is not professionally installed.
What they say and actually do may be two different things, but I know they don't answer questions from homeowners about the Unit, I have tried.

After reading through the warranty information in the included documentation, I don't know that they can legally reject the warranty if you install it yourself. While it does clearly state that it should be installed by a trained, experienced professional, there is nothing in the warranty that states that not having it professionally installed will void the warranty. If you've had an issue with that, you may want to talk to a lawyer about it and provide them with the warranty documentation.

If you have any problems with the Unit you could always try to take it back to the store you bought it. They should be able to get you a replacement. My 12 gallon TrueSteam works well so I have been fortunate up to this point.

That's probably what I'd end up doing first since that's the first option that Honeywell recommends as well. That and I think it would be easier to deal with the whole thing in person at a local store than go through the corporate hoops.
That being said, I'm glad to hear that you've had no problems; I'm hoping I won't either. I ran a new circuit for the humidifier and installed my VisionPro IAQ last night and all seems well with those. This weekend I'll be hooking up the humidifier as I need to make some minor plumbing modifications before I can hook it up.

I got everything installed correctly with no problems. Humidity in the house has gone up 10% in the last 12 hours. So far very happy with the product!
