Here is my problem, I'm old and slow, also combat disabled. I finally have started the kitchen I promised a long time ago. It will be twice the size and I'm making progress but slowly, I also have two Labs. I screwed and Pl'd 1/2" AC plywood over the 3/4" T&G that the house was built with. The floor may have to remain like this for maybe a year till all cabinets are in and the final floor goes down. So what would be a good sealer that dries quick but would protect all my work so far. TIA

What type of floor covering do you intend to use?
An oil base primer and floor enamel would wear the best but flat latex paint or a latex solid deck stain should do ok.

The final floor will be 1/4" stapled to the 1/2" with either sheet or tiles in vinyl. This will get very close to my height of my hardwood floors next to the kitchen.

I just wanted to make sure the paint wouldn't affect the floor covering, luan will go over a painted floor with no issues to worry about. You could also use poly on the plywood - if you want a clear finish.

Coat of latex primer and latex deck enamel will make it washable until you are ready to finish up.

You might want to use a good grade of plywood. Whatever you put on it will raise the grain a lot.
You say it will be about a year before it is covered...how about an indoor/outdoor carpet.

Not sure what you're getting at here, but for a disabled fellow, it would be easier to keep a painted floor clean.
