I've used the Terro ant bait with great success.

It's sold at just about any store.

Gosh from many years ago... a co-worker's Pop was an exterminator and shared some magic with me.

Line it around the room walls

I'm thinking 3 parts oatmeal and 1 part sodium bicarbonate mixed up well.

The magic is when they walk across the sodium barcarbonate for the oatmeal, they're gonna fizzle and burst when the SB evaporates all their moisture!!!

You're kids and cats and dogs will just BURP!!! if they eat the stuff.

Best,

Andy

Hi.. I have here some tips on how to get rid of ants:

Tips:

* Ants love aphids and scale--particularly, the sweet, sugary substance they make. Treat outdoor plants for aphids and scale during the spring and summer months (when they are abundant) and ants will have less to hang around for.
* Ants often avoid cinnamon, so covering their paths into an area with cinnamon will deter the ants from that path.
* If you see an ant that's a little larger than all the rest, it might be a queen produced by a large colony and looking to establish a new nest. Make sure it doesn't get a chance.
Queens are usually 2-3 times larger than workers, possess wings before mating, have very large abdomens.

Warnings:

* Use gloves and a breathing mask if using any ant-deterring substances. At best, they're irritants; at worst, they're poisonous.
* Contact with boric acid or borax can have negative effects:[15][16]

o inhalation can cause mild irritation; if this happens, let the person get fresh air
o does not irritate intact skin
o can be irritating to eyes; rinse and seek medical attention if symptoms persist for more than 30 minutes
o if more than a teaspoon is swallowed by an adult, drink two glasses of water and seek medical attention
* Planting mint around your house and garden may deter ants, but they can be invasive, so speak to a knowledgeable garden centre before planting it directly in the ground.

I hope that maybe useful!
